Black Ice Magazine, Vol. 2 is Live, and Free!

Hello everyone!

After a long break, we’re back with Black Ice Magazine, Vol. 2. Inside you’ll find eighty pages of speculative fiction from new and emergent writers.

Additionally, we’re changing up our business model. Well, more specifically, we’re chucking it out the window. You’ll be able to download it (and Vol. 1) for free below.

UnSung Kickstarter is Live!

We’re excited about the next step in our submission process opening up– the KickStarter! We need your generous donations to keep our project going; Since we’re a new, token-paying market, we need help with paying our contributors.

The goal is to gain even more traction and eventually be able to compensate our contributors more generously, but in order to do that, we need your help.

Please donate here if you can, and spread the word to your friends and colleagues!

Kickstarter Update 7

I’m pleased to announce that volume one of Black Ice Magazine has been filled! Stories, interviews, and artwork are going into layout, and we’re on track for a mid-late March release.

In our latest update, you’ll find an excerpt from “The Surgeon Symphonies” by S.E. Casey, a particularly gruesome and strange short story that sickens as much as it entertains. You’ll also find its accompanying artwork, which we’re proud to unveil.

You can find the full update here:

Happy Holidays!

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all some good ole fashioned Season’s Greetings–or, rather, Beatings, as you’ll soon read in an upcoming story sample, pending author approval.

Bad puns aside, 2017 is going to be a very good year for science fiction fans. Between major films, television shows, and novels, there’s something for everyone to look forward to; the genre is a gift that keeps on giving, so to speak.

Work on the magazine has slowed over the holidays, as expected, but will resume with haste in the upcoming weeks. In addition to the story sample, we hope to share some artwork in mid-January. As I mentioned in our last Kickstarter update, we’re considering changing our submission guidelines, but that is still being decided.

Thank you all again for sticking with us, and we hope you all have a wonderful year.

Thank you all so much! The fact that this is moving forward with your support makes me very happy indeed.

In addition, you can all look forward to our third interview, featuring Nate Kailhofer, the flash fiction editor of Aphelion Science Fiction! It’ll be coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Thank you all for your continued support. You’re amazing.

Kickstarter Update 3

Wow, 95% funded with 10 days to go! That’s awesome!

Last time, we previewed our updated design template; nothing’s changed there (yet). However, we’ve filled a third of Volume 1, and it’s only December! I’m so excited to bring you all these fantastic stories.

Now, in our most recent Kickstarter Update, you’ll find a sample from Allen Lang’s hilarious near-future story, “Dodgem.” We hope you enjoy it!
